Who we are
This website is operated by Isle of Wight Boilers, a boiler servicing, repair and installation business covering the Isle of Wight. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us on 07836 395 463 or at info@isleofwightboilers.co.uk.
What we collect and why
When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number, the service you’re interested in, your town (if provided) and your message. We use this only to reply to your enquiry, arrange visits and provide quotes or services you ask for.
Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries. If you become a customer, we keep job records (including gas safety records) as required by law and for warranty purposes.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Customer and job records are kept for as long as needed for legal, safety and accounting purposes, typically up to 6 years. Landlord gas safety records must be kept for at least 2 years.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your data. Your enquiry is transmitted to our email inbox via our website host, XwhyZ, which acts as a data processor on UK servers. If you accept analytics cookies, Google collects usage data as described below.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics (Google tag GT-PZZ995NW) to understand how visitors find and use our site, such as which pages are viewed and whether people call or send enquiries. These cookies are only set if you click “Accept analytics”. If you reject or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set. A small setting is saved in your browser to remember your choice.
You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Google’s use of data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. Contact us using the details above. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
