Honest advice on the right boiler for your home

We live local, work local, and fix local. We’re not part of any national chain or fixed to any manufacturer, so the boiler we recommend is based on your home, your hot water use and your budget.

Before quoting we look at the size of your property, how many bathrooms you run, your water pressure, where the flue can go, and the condition of your existing pipework and radiators. Getting that right is what makes a new boiler efficient and reliable for years, instead of oversized, noisy or short-lived.

What’s included in a boiler installation

  • Removal and responsible disposal of your old boiler
  • Fitting of your new boiler, flue and controls
  • Cleansing of your heating system and inhibitor dosing, as required by manufacturers and British Standards
  • Magnetic system filter fitted where one isn’t already in place
  • Full commissioning: gas tightness test, combustion analysis and safety checks
  • Building Regulations compliance certificate issued through Gas Safe
  • Manufacturer warranty registration and a clear handover of how to use your controls

Combi, system or regular — which do you need?

Combi boilers heat water on demand with no tank or cylinder. They’re ideal for flats and most two to three bedroom homes with one main bathroom.

System boilers work with a hot water cylinder and suit larger homes with more than one bathroom in use at the same time.

Regular (heat-only) boilers use a cold water tank in the loft plus a cylinder. They’re common in older Island properties, and sometimes the best choice to keep where the pipework was designed for them.

Swapping from one type to another is often possible. We’ll explain the pros, cons and costs honestly before you decide.

Signs it’s time to replace your boiler

  • Your boiler is 12–15+ years old and breaking down more often
  • Parts are becoming obsolete or expensive
  • Rising gas bills without a change in usage
  • Radiators slow to warm up or hot water that runs hot and cold
  • Repeated low pressure, leaks or lockouts

If a repair makes more sense than a replacement, we’ll tell you. That’s the kind of honesty our reputation on the Island is built on.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How long does a boiler installation take?

A like-for-like swap is usually completed in one day. Moving the boiler to a new location or converting from a regular system to a combi typically takes two to three days. We’ll confirm timings when we quote.

Do you install boilers across the whole Isle of Wight?

Yes. We cover all areas of the Island, from Newport, Ryde and Cowes to Sandown, Shanklin, Ventnor, Freshwater and everywhere in between.

Will my new boiler come with a warranty?

Yes. Every new boiler comes with a manufacturer warranty, which we register for you. Warranty lengths vary by brand and model, so we’ll set out exactly what’s included in your quote. Keeping it valid usually means an annual service, which we can book in for you.

Do I need a power flush when I get a new boiler?

Manufacturers require the heating system to be cleaned and treated with inhibitor when a new boiler is fitted. Depending on the condition of your system that may be a chemical cleanse or a full power flush. We’ll check and explain which is needed.
